just finished this. it was enjoyable, but not amazing: i would venture that it was created to be as such. it's just kind of nice to watch. you aren't blown away, but you are entertained in that trademark prairie home companion way.
the angel of death thread, as well as the final scene in the diner, is an homage/throwback to the iconic ingmar bergman and his classic the seventh seal (watch that film if you'd like a little more insight into phc and just watch it anyway, for your own sake). lindsay lohan is not very good. her acting is awkward and she has a particularly poor voice. yes, guy noir is a real character on the radio show. the final song that's on during the credits is a flashback to the last night of the show. it is not a scene from the possible tour mentioned in the show. |
