not sure how old you are or your marriage/family situation, but these sorts of things become much more valuable as you mature in those respects.

33, married for 5 years, house, couple car payments, etc. No kids... yet.

When I joined this co. I planned on doing 2 and out (2 years) because the commute is brutal. That was 4 years ago.

It's quite common in my field to move around a lot. Two years is the typical stint. A broad background is viewed as a positive for what I do. I've been in this line of work for 10 years and have changed jobs twice. Both were "promotions" though (going from a junior associate in co. A to a specialist in co. B, then to a manager in co. C.) I just assumed my next move would be to a Director level. That can wait.

for those two reasons alone the move is clearly the right move. coupled with the gut feeling you're not moving up at your current company, and you should definitely switch.
