I planned on doing 2 and out (2 years) because the commute is brutal. That was 4 years ago. It's quite common in my field to move around a lot. Two years is the typical stint. A broad background is viewed as a positive for what I do. I've been in this line of work for 10 years and have changed jobs twice. Both were "promotions" though (going from a junior associate in co. A to a specialist in co. B, then to a manager in co. C.) I just assumed my next move would be to a Director level. That can wait. |

for those two reasons alone the move is clearly the right move. coupled with the gut feeling you're not moving up at your current company, and you should definitely switch.
