Re: 200PS: I check/folded my boat
I probably call here for a couple of reasons:
A large portion of the hands that beat you don't take this line. T9 raises the turn, and T8 is unlikely because of the two 8s in your hand. The most likely hands that take this line are TT, AT4x, and T8xx though, again, it's unlikely due to our holdings. The last possibility which would take this line is someone with a straight flush (but usually theres a good chance they'd bet this flop). Another reason for this to be a call is that MP can basically rule out T9 from anyone's holdings beacuse no one bet the river thus making it a rather easy bluff for him. c/c is probably the optimal line on the river because a lead by you probably doesn't get called as often as c/c induces a bluff. Also, Buzz I definitely agree with Gordo that set mining with two-pair hands (even with these low pairs) is profitable. Of course, you'll often be doing a fair amount of c/c'ing on scary boards with the sets you hit, but having that 25% chance of hitting a set is huge. |

Re: 200PS: I check/folded my boat
And
[ QUOTE ] Very scary when you get two calls on the turn! [/ QUOTE ] That is actually not scary at all. It lets us eliminate T9 from people's holdings and due to the 8's in our hand it's unlikely that either of them are full. On the other hand, it could mean TT/QdJd though they'd have probably bet out on the flop. |

Re: 200PS: I check/folded my boat
Do you guys remember the last players in this hand? He is yet to act, and he seems a little too loose. Is it possible that MP has better reads than me vs him, and sees him as a fish he can station?
