Re: 96s button
pf I fold but meh, flop and turn are fine. Fold the river, you're just not good

Anyone like a turn raise? [/ QUOTE ] Definitely my first thought but now I'm thinking my "vegas players actually fold" belief may be outdated? -DeathDonkey |

Re: 96s button

Anyone like a turn raise? [/ QUOTE ] A flop raise is 10x better than a turn raise, IMO. A flop raise will get you that free card sometimes, while costing yourself little in equity those times that it doesn't. If you believe hitting a 6 or a nine are possible outs, which apparently you do, then a raise on the flop will clean that up too. |

Re: 96s button
I also like a flop raise. Vegas nits who think you play like them will put you squarely on like AT. Sounds like CO might not put you squarely on it but whatever. Raise the flop then watch people act on the flop then act on the turn. Obviously depending on what they do sometimes fire 2 more bullets and sometimes take the free card.

Re: 96s button
I agree with raise the flop. Whether to bet the turn or not depends entirely on villain. Usually you should just take a free card, but there are some loose players I would definitely bet all the way.

Re: 96s button
I'd like to hear some plans for the turn and river after raising the flop. Also, if anyone can figure out the difference in $ that we gain by just calling the flop bet vs. raising please post something. I have a sneaking suspicion that since we're not knocking out any higher flush draws or cleaning up potential pair outs (since we need runner-runner), a flop raise has a lower EV. What are the chances CO is folding an ace if we raise?
