Re: Would You Still Fight For Online Gaming If Poker Was Exempted?
I would fight, but like ugly said, you don't need a lot of players for sports or casino action. I would vote or lobby for sports betting, because I think the attendant ills are worse being underground than above. Casinos online, as Ive always backed the middle class jobs brick and mortar casinos bring. I am neutral on. Basically, I take a freedom and consumer value line.

Poker is not gambling and that is why it is a game of skill.

People should be allowed to do whatever they want with there money. If they have a gambling problem its not up to the House to keep them from it.

Re: Would You Still Fight For Online Gaming If Poker Was Exempted?
There are so many things wrong with the current state of affairs that one has to pick and choose the ones to give extra effort to fighting.
The short, honest answer to your question is no, if poker were exempt I would not continue to fight. I would continue to support legal access to online gambling as a matter of libertarian principle, but letter writing, monetary donations and personal activism would go elsewhere. A little selfish but true. Skallagrim |

Re: Would You Still Fight For Online Gaming If Poker Was Exempted?
As far as "fighting" goes, yes I would exert the same amount of effort now that I do on poker (which is very little - in September/October I was doing more). Hello, casino bonus whoring anyone?

Re: Would You Still Fight For Online Gaming If Poker Was Exempted?
I would, although I would not fight nearly as hard.
I'd still like to have the option to bonus whore the casino games, but at the same time wouldn't want my fish to lose their money to a casino as opposed to poker. Not sure which would have a greater effect on me. |

Re: Would You Still Fight For Online Gaming If Poker Was Exempted?
I don't care to play blackjack online or slots. And wouldn't care if they banned online casino games. However, if someone wants to play some 5 dollar blackjack after they get home from work or a 20 dollar poker tourney it's none of my business and definitly isn't any of our governments business. And as a matter of principal I believe we should stick together and fight for all online gaming.
