Mojito- rum, lime juice, sugar, mint leaves
Gin and Tonic- tang. or beefeater gin + tonic + lemon or lime
Rum and coke- bring your insulin
tom collins- vodka + sour mix.
manhattan- like a martini but with whiskey, i think
Long island ice tea

I think most good cocktails are designed to let you drink large amounts of alcohol without getting the oral sensation that you are in fact consuming large amounts of alcohol, allowing you to get loaded quicker. For example, long island ice teas contain enormous amounts of alcoholic, yet most people can slug them down. This is why women get so bombed on them, they think they are drinking punch or something. A vodka martini is another example of this. It is much easier to gulp down compared to vodka straight from the bottle, yet a vodka martini is mostly vodka.

Stoli and tonic, 7&7 if vodka isn't for you. Both are simple and clean tasting. If you like the stoli&t try Stoli and cranberry. It might look slightly girlish, but it will put your ass in the bag.

White Russian. If it's good enough for The Dude, it's good enough for me.

Soco and 7(Southern comfort and 7-up). Very sweet, easy to drink. I tend not to sip these but rather chug em back and tell the waitress to keep em coming.

I like Buckeyes, which are martinis with black olives instead of green ones.

Ok, I'll admit it. I'm not really a fan of beer. And all these beer threads gave me the idea for this thread.

When I go to a bar or lounge, I end up just getting a beer most of the time, pushing my taste buds to the side for the sake of simplicity.
Add to that the fact that I'm not really a fan of the taste of hard alcohol either (i dunno how people can sip cognac and not make a face), and you see my dilemma.

Thread Request:
List a cocktail you like that doesnt taste like ass, doesn't make you look like you're ordering for your sister, and that bartenders will know how to make without taking out a handbook. Ingredients and taste descriptions are appreciated.

[/ QUOTE ]

Try a vodka martini (dry, dirty, whatever) if you have a seat (so it won't spill) or a vodka soda with a lime of whatever if you have to walk around the bar.
