Dids, I agree with you 100%. If anyone should be blamed for this, it should be ESPN/SI/Fox rather than ARod/Boras. [/ QUOTE ] They should start censoring the news to avoid disrupting events they have a financial interest in? Should Fox News withhold all Iraq casualty reports until after our eventual withdrawal? Boras totally controlled the timing here, he had another ten days to announce. I think he timed it for maximum effect, but didnt anticipate the backlash. At least he issued a genuine apology for it. |

[/ QUOTE ] the thing is if fox didn't report it and espn started to they would look bad as a media source [/ QUOTE ] Exactly. Competition forced their collective hand. [/ QUOTE ] I disagree with this. I think you could very easily back burner it, say "the red sox were the more important story" and probably end up looking good. |

I think people said the exact same thing you just did in the yankees offseason thread like 15+ times.

I think I would be a lot more mad about it had the Indians been in the World Series. But yea, it was a real lame thing to do.

He had within anytime during the ten days after the World Series to do so. How does announcing it during Game 4 make anything different than announcing it the day after? |

Dids,
There is an entire thread on ARod opting out. That's where this stuff goes. Stop acting like you're more important than other posters. |

I agree that it sucks that things work this way, but they do work this way. |
