I'm definitely in.

Please PM me after this thread gets deleted.

Performiry and all - Not to rain on your parade, but Mason has recently said in About The Forums that organizing NCAA pools is strictly forbidden on 2+2 now.

Kind of strange that they wouldn't alert the mod of the forum where this is most likely to take place.

[/ QUOTE ]

Some of these policies are silly. It's alright to organize coinflips in BBV, but it isn't alright to organize a no-vig NCAA pool in SB? Maybe he commented on flips as well, off to find that thread...

edit -- Read the thread, it delivered the expected silliness. We can always take this to IRC, if need be.

Please PM me with details if this gets off the ground outside of 2+2. I'll definitely be in for a small money pool and probably $50-$100 as well.

I don't even know where to go for the IRC chat thing.
Never been there.

But I'll find it eventually I guess if you guys are doing a pool.

Didn't know they were doing flips in BBV.
I'm sure the only reason this hasn't been forbidden is because Mason doesn't know about it.

i am interested and prefer $25-50 range. Also, IMO it works out better if the points increase each round but don't quite double.

Example 1st Rd 2 pts, 2nd Rd 3, 3rd Rd, 4, 4th Rd 6, 5th Rd 10, 6th Rd 15.

This is a format I've been in for the last ten years.
1st round....one point
2nd round....two points
3rd round....four points
4th round....six points
final four....eight points
final.........ten points

places more emphasis on betting more games correctly instead of the overall winner....otherwise if your team winning it all goes out in the third or fourth round youve pretty much got no shot at winning any money

All these arbitrary scoring systems are stupid:
1 2 4 8 16 32
1 2 3 5 10 15
1 2 4 6 8 10

They give you a different winner based on which one you use. Use something based on seeding [or pt spread] that is logical and non-arbitary and rewards people for skill, rather than pure guessing.
Why should a 1 beating a 2 give wildly different results based on 4th, 5th, or 6th round?

I was also wondering if there might be one where you pick one round at a time and simply get a point for every win and/or a number of points equal to the seed.
