Re: Kinda simple Preflop spot v Tmay in 109r
[ QUOTE ]
What would people's 3 bet sizes be in this spot btw? [/ QUOTE ] 8k or so I don't mind the 1chip raise and if he go stop gos me I have a pair so I call. I think 8k gets him to fold AQ in this spot as well. |

Re: Kinda simple Preflop spot v Tmay in 109r
Ok thanks - I was thinking the smaller the better cause it maybe widens his range for continuing a bit?

Re: Kinda simple Preflop spot v Tmay in 109r
[ QUOTE ]
Tmay is pretty aggro, but not crazy, and i doubt hes opening to light UTG with his stack, he prolly views me as aggro and decent. So 3bet/call? Flat? Fold? (i hope not!) [/ QUOTE ] All are reasonable options, all are fairly marginal in terms of cEV (except folding, which is exactly marginal). Tmay has been fairly tight the 2 times I've played with him live, maybe he was just card dead. In the absence of any other info, I'd be inclined to gamble here and 3bet/call to take a stab at having the most chips at the table. |

Re: Kinda simple Preflop spot v Tmay in 109r
Why is 3betting better than calling? so he can play perfectly against us?

Re: Kinda simple Preflop spot v Tmay in 109r
I don't like calling either. Too large a % of our stack. Also wtf is with this raising to 9000 [censored]? I would never consider anything other than allin if I was planning on raising any hand here. (I hope I'm reading stack sizes correctly and that the ones after me have same as UTG). |

Re: Kinda simple Preflop spot v Tmay in 109r
I ran a bunch of opening/calling ranges here, but they basically boiled down to this: if he's opening {77+, AJo+, ATs+}, shoving is cEV neutral, if he's opening any wider, it's going to be +cEV. With a few very minor exceptions, this holds true for calling ranges from {JJ+,AK} down to {99+,AQ+}.
