Re: Ohio Senator Dewines Reply to Putting Extraneous Language onto Bil
Hmmmmm. What have we learned here? Politicians are douchebags who don't give a [censored] about the individual citizen.

Re: Ohio Senator Dewines Reply to Putting Extraneous Language onto Bil
No you are not missing anything. You are correct that the response didnt say anything about what I had originally asked about. I posted this because I found the response irrelevant which shows how unimportant this issue really is to most of our elected representatives. Also, I doubt he has received many calls and/or e-mails on this due to the lack of a form letter specifically for this topic.

Folks how about a VERY CONSTRUCTIVE PPA drive again?
We can launch a big phone drive (using the Foley scandal as our basis) asking Halstert and Boehner etc to step down, resign, clean public toilets and commit hara-kiri (in that order). If politicians can use the wrong reasons to effect changes, then so can we! Now how to effect this on a grand scale? We don't have to mention poker. Enough to mention Foley, and the "page-screwing traditional values agenda".

[ QUOTE ] Mmm. Pork. [/ QUOTE ] He seems shockingly open about this. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, it's like he's saying, "Stop bitching, or I can't keep putting pork in federal bills for your benefit!" |

First his office sent a reply saying they received my e-mail and when the Senator had more time he would respond. Then 3 weeks later I get a form letter like I'm supposed to believe he took the time to personally respond and it didnt even talk about what I inquired about. |

Re: Ohio Senator Dewines Reply
Here is my reply from Senator DeWine....
October 10, 2006 Dear XXXXXXX: Thank you for contacting me regarding Internet gambling. I appreciate knowing your views on this issue. On-line gambling is a rapidly growing issue. For many, gambling on the Internet is an enjoyable pastime, yet for others it is a painful addiction that can destroy their finances and families. Most states already have laws restricting on-line gambling. Representative Leach introduced H.R. 4411- the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2005, which would restrict on-line gambling on the federal level. This bill would prevent the involvement of banking or credit institutions in financial transactions related to gambling. This provision was attached to the SAFE Port Act (H.R. 4954) and passed the Senate on September 30, 2006 by unanimous consent. Again, thank you for contacting me. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact me anytime. Very respectfully yours, MIKE DeWINE United States Senator |
