3bet now. People will stack off with 9s because they have an overpair. Don't let the turn kill your action.

chances are that vilain is gonna call with those kinds of hands, not reraise, so my guess is that he will raise you with higher pockets, or the intention of stealing the pot with AX(higher than T)...i say call him....and depending on the turn which is most likely gonna be a dead card, not a 2,4, or 7.....value bet him to get massive value

[/ QUOTE ]

^ What he said

Going all in is simply giving villain a chance to get away from 88, 99, and maybe a weak 2p.

i think u r givin WAY to much credit to a random dude at 50nl. next to none will b willing to fold an overpair to our shove and will deff NOT fold 2 pair. they will b snap calling 2 pair expecting to see an over pair.

as i said i think a bigger initial bet on the flop and a shove extracts the most value. if tha dude can get away from 88 or 99 here he will surely get away from it on the turn as no card alows 88 or 99 to look n e better on the turn with out stealing the lead from us. if they r good enough to much a mid pair good job. but i dont see it happening much

I've ran into a lot of decent players at 25 NL who will fold 88, 99, or even TT to a push like this but who I've stacked in a similar position just by waiting until the turn. There's very little downside.

How does it mean he'll get away from it on the turn? All in over a C/R = showing massive strength, while just calling is not. When someone flat calls rather than pushes, I am now more inclined to think my 88, 99 is better and he's on a draw, and I would open push a blank turn or something.

Maybe if you're playing at donk central Poker Stars it'd be different.

I tend to push this flop, on a less connected flop I might call.

guys this flop is pretty damn dry. I dont mind calling the checkraise and raising the turn. Its not always ZOMG 4x I c/r on this board.

There are alot of blanks that can roll off on the turn. and waiting til then to make your move wont blow villain off one pair (and good players off two pair)
