Re: how to find some 1 who will spot you?
I got an email from a guy in Nigeria who'll be able to help. Just send him your Dad's bank details and password - but don't tell anyone, it's a secret.

Re: how to find some 1 who will spot you?
[ QUOTE ]
what would be the best way to find some 1 to spot you for a tourney or something? [/ QUOTE ] Nick, if you don't already know who will spot you, then most likely the answer is no one. The only people that will give you money are going to be a.) people who have seen you play and believe you can make them money or b.) your friends and/or family. No one you don't know is going to give you any money. Whatever you do...please don't become one of those rail beggars. PS: Its a yorkshire terrier... and it is 1 dog not 2 dogs... and not a ferret like one guy thought it was LOL. |

Re: how to find some 1 who will spot you?
Does anyone get staked for online tourneys? I ask because most of the buy-ins are below $500 (really most are below $216) which does not a significant barrier to entry for a winning player. The big live tourneys have $10k buy-ins, lots of travel and expenses, and take several days to complete. Because of the expensive buy-ins it staking arrangements (or selling pieces) makes more sense. Re: how to find some 1 who will spot you?
Toons of people get staked for online tourneys. On any given sunday, take a browse through the BBV and check out the Sunday Hundred Grand threads for an example of this.

[/ QUOTE ] I actually saw that - it seemed like a novelty to me, but you probably know better. I personally don't understand why someone would take a stake in an $11 buy-in tourney, or even a $216 like the Sunday Million. The outlay of time that it takes to complete the tourney is more costly than the tourney entry fee. Given this it seems pretty reasonable to want to offer a stake to someone with a [much] better than average chance of winning, but not so reasonable to take one. Lucky |

You guys are pretty harsh. Evidently he's a good player and you're all being rude about it.
Nicky, I'll stake you. *stakes nicky to a pole with a sharp piece of wood* |
