If the villain is at all crafty, I don't like betting here. It's too easy to take us off our hand. There's nothing wrong with checking a made hand. We really under-represent it. I think if you check/call and check/raise a turn blank you really put the villain in a bad spot. If we fire the flop, we're either committed to being all-in, which sucks against his calling range or we're folding the best hand too much.

Does this mean you never raise PF in EP? Or just never raise a big pair PF in EP. You have to do some balance work there. You NEVER raise the pot with QQ in EP?

I LRR some suited c's. Mostly just muck preflop though, but when I limp EP with Ts9s, it's with the intention of doing this. Also, LRR some low pairs, AK, AQ, JJ+. And I just raise a lot too. It depends on the situation. If there are a lot of good, full-stack TAGs after me, I'm more inclined to LRR with the aforementioned hands. If there are a lot of ss'ers, stations, or maniacs in position, I'm more inclined to raise. idk, how OP's table was (maybe Villain was the only good TAG at the table), I'm mostly trying to say navigating flops like these is tricky and this flop makes me wish I LRR'd.

WTF this is so horrible.

You invest half your stack and turn your hand into a bluff.

Horrible or not, I've trapped (not bluffed) a number of players with this line. Good tag may be a different player than I am thinking of. If "good tag" isn't smooth calling on the button with a fairly wide range, this won't work out so well for sure. But it his range is wide and will apply a lot of pressure on the button and fire a lot of his draws twice as well as his 99-JJs, then I think you're hand is going to be pretty good against his range and it's not a bad trap. I know that the consensus is to use betting lines and not trapping lines, but trapping lines have their place too, I think.

By any measure, you are a most surely a better, more experienced player than I am and I'm sure you could convince me otherwise. So write a couple of sentences and convince me.

Stan, he's not going to be betting his worse hand on both the flop and turn a lot, but will always bet his better ones. He will also check behind stuff like gutshots a lot. You also really hate to see an A. There are other reasons, but c/c then c/r sucks here.

I just cbet here and usually felt. I feel like its much less exploitable to bet/3bet here than to bet/fold and checking is going to put you in a weird spot.

Seems to me like you'd tarp yourself most of the time with that line.

Now, if you bet (and get called), then check-raise a blank turn is a good line. But if you check twice you have no idea if villain is bluffing or is just value betting a strong hand.

Actually, I think auto-felting here is far more exploitable than bet/folding.

explain please? If you bet/fold this then you're basically bet/folding your whole range with the exception of big hearts and sets. A set is definitely not the majority of your cbetting range. It would be pretty easy to profit off of raising this everytime assuming you fold everything but 66, 77, 88, 99 and AhKh, AhQh, KhQh.
