Al Gore comes to the rescue. Gore-Obama is unstoppable.
The Dems totally get this. By not announcing Al Gore is above it all, sidesteps financing rules and gets tons of free PR before the key moment when he is drafted. |

the name to watch is:
Al Gore ....he picks Obama. James Lovelock backs Gore. Even people that dislike Gore like him now. Obama is backed by Exelon, the biggest operator of nuke power plants in the USA. The country is ready for a Afro-American VP and nuclear power. Gore "suddenly" embraces nuclear power as he is elected and lays out the vision for USA oil independence in his inaugural. |

I agree. The US won't be electing a woman or a black man to the Presidency. I am not racist or sexist, but there are a lot of people who will let this be the deciding factor. The Democratic party needs to understand this or the Republicans will be taking this one home. That wouldn't be such a bad thing for the US. A nice healthy gridlock will keep the politicians from wrecking our lives more with their overspending.

Its funny because there is still controversy about having an Italian in the whitehouse w/ Guiilani, and the dems are putting up a black guy and a woman. Gore is WAY WAY too polarizing, there is no way in hell he gets elected. If the dems even consider Gore, the right-wing is going to destroy him

I agree, the only solution is for the Democrats to appoint a Republican president, so the right wing doesn't get mad.

Gore used to have credibility as a moderate. No more. He can't win this. Whoever wins will have to at least fake moderation, and I think Obama is the only dem candidate who can pull that off. Hillary isn't a good enough actor.

[/ QUOTE ] Well there are degrees of how bad the PR machine will come at someone. You dont think the democrats have realized this? Basicalyl you have two scenerios: Old White guy Gore gets destroyed for being a hypocrite, global warming babble, being a robot etc (i dont care whether any of this is true or not); and since its all old white dudes, attacking an old white dude, there is little recourse once the attacks are put out there. Imo, people remember the initial attacks, rarely do they remember if they are disproven etc. Or you put in a minority (women/black dude, whatever) so teh republicans cant attack him as harshly because then the left can just counter with "all republicans are racist/sexist" |

Ahahaha, wut? No one cares that Rudy's italian, they care that he's a third-marriage, pro-choice catholic with an expansive view of executive power and a habit of recommending future felons for cabinet level positions. |
