Anyone rereading "DaVinci Code" before movie comes out??

i read the book in jan. of last year when someone lent it to me, and i thought it was quite effective

The book has zero reread value, but I will see the movie because I enjoy director/cast.

I read it and i didnt really like it. I thought it was good but after reading it i just felt like it was too action oriented and the plot was kinda contrived and the characters can go jump off a cliff for all I care.

Which option should I choose? I have not read the book in the past, but have decided to read it - partially because the movie is coming out and partially because 40 million other people have bought the book and I'm curious about it.

I'm about halfway through it right now and it's a fun, exciting read, VERY easy to read. Pretty poorly written, sort of like John Grisham style except a little worse. But it is structured well and I definitely want to keep reading and find out what happens next.

It's one of those books that I don't need to read to know how bad it is. Just talking to the idiots that have read it and spout off about it is good enough for me. I suspect the movie will be very much the same.
