OP, you did the right thing by bringing your problems to BBV4L. I suggest you build a fort out of boxes and/or pillows and secret yourself away in it, lest you infect others.
With the computer you brought into your fort with you, flip for your BR several times until busto or robusto. If busto, just browse BBV for the rest of your short life, if robusto get your ass to a hospital. Basically, you're freerolling.

OP - don't be scared. Your symptoms could indicate something very serious or something very benign. Since it could be either, <font color="red"> go to the ER tonight </font>. Black oily stuff sounds more like bile to me than blood (which is classically described as "coffee grounds"), but obviously I can't tell over the interwebs. Lots of different reasons for hiccups, most benign, in your case odds are fairly good that you're talking just irritation of the diaphragm from the vomiting.

****update*****
Fell asleep a little bit after posting. Was the first good night's sleep I had. Didn't wake up to poop or vomit. Went to the doctor this morning. Said yes, it was most likely blood i was throwing up caused by a 'microtear' possibly from wretching. I've had a history of stomach problems before, so, he schedluled an endoscopy. I'm finally feeling better and actually ate something after taking blood tests, and the hiccups have definitely slowed down so YAY, i knew bbv4l was the best place to come for medical advice!!!! I'll make sure to come out of lurkdom when my joint starts itching.... [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

i seem to recall reading that some 30 odd or so people a year commit suicide p.a. due to unending hiccups, usually resulting from surgery under a general anasthetic
