Re: AJs UTG with an M of just over 7
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] You don't push AJs with M of 7 UTG. There is about a 35% chance someone has you dominated, and hands that have you dominated are unlikely to fold. [/ QUOTE ] I haven't posted in months, and only occasionally lurked in that time, but I may have just found a leak in my game. How short-handed does the table need to be at this blind level before this push becomes cev+ ? What if the blinds are 150/300? [/ QUOTE ] If you are pushing in OP's situaton, it is definately a leak. If the blinds are 150/300, it is a push. With 100/200/25 ante, you have an M of 4 and it is probably a push. With 100/200 no ante, you could push into 5 players, but limping or miniraising is also possible here. |

Check out the pushbot charts. You should push this at an average or loose table. If the table is tight, then it's -cEV to push . . .

[/ QUOTE ] Huh, are you saying it is better to push AJs UTG at a loose table because you get more calls from KJ or AT? AA-JJ, AK are probably calling, so I don't see how the table matters that much. Folding AQ is generally correct, because no one would be stupid enough to push AJ UTG, but some people will call with AQ in late position. I don't know what these pushbot charts say, but they are not necessarily allways correct. |

Betgo, UTG pushes with 11 BBs are better at loose tables than at tight tables.

Betgo, UTG pushes with 11 BBs are better at loose tables than at tight tables. [/ QUOTE ] No one should be calling with any hand that AJ dominates. If you assume that people will make bad loose calls, as is likely early in low buyin online tournaments, then pushing AJs UTG with M of 7 could be a good play. If you mean by loose table, loose fish who will call a big UTG push with junk, then push at that kind of table. To me, that is not what "loose table" means. In the rebuy period of the Stars $10 rebuy, pushing AJs UTG for 200 x BB may be a good play. |

Most of my play lately has been in sng's, so by the time the blinds are 100/200 we're down to 6 players or so. I knew that was correct. But I prob have been carrying this push over to 10-handed MTT's too. I look down, see AJs and 11BBs and think it's an auto-push. Live and learn... |
