Re: Results Oriented: The Struggle
[ QUOTE ]
Okay, so at the moment I'm on a 5 BI downswong (noes!) after being on a nice heater for a bit, and its like crushing my morale (or was). [/ QUOTE ] Since when is 5 buyins a downswing? Thats 5 minutes baby! [ QUOTE ] 3. What do you guys do to just shake your losses and and just deal with variance? [/ QUOTE ] play low enough so that 5 buyins is lol material. |

Re: Results Oriented: The Struggle
I know exactly how u feel. I just dropped almost 10BI today...
It hurts u'r confidence, and thats what screws u the most. Just take a break for a day, enjoy something u love to do other than poker. Comeback the following day focus and ready to kill. |

Re: Results Oriented: The Struggle
fees,
play 3/6 for like 1k hands or something, then 2/4 will seem like a lot less money. |

Re: Results Oriented: The Struggle
[ QUOTE ]
I lost $2.8k in one day on Sunday (worst loss to date) but it didn't feel as bad as losing my first $1k all in one day felt. I used to get worked up and tilted about losing $50 at NL25. I think jfish has it right and you get used to it. I try not to check my PT nor my balance, especially during play. I used to refresh my balance on Party every time I had free time between hands (seriously; lol). I put some hands in this morning, probably ended up, but I don't even know how much because I didn't bother to check; closed PT and was done with poker for the day. So I'm trying not to gloat about wins so I don't get all worked up against losses. Swongs are just one thing. [/ QUOTE ] I still do this and need to get tagged like Cartman did in the South Park movie for everytime I check my balance |

What do you guys do to just shake your losses and and just deal with variance? [/ QUOTE ] $2-$50 HU Sngs (preferably PLO) on Full Tilt potting every hand and every street regardless. Winning can be awesome sometimes. Needless to say, I am a huge Sharkscope fish. I don't know if this will help you but it relieves alot of stress from a poor session. |

Re: Results Oriented: The Struggle
Convince yourself that you are playing well or that you learned from the hands you played poorly. I had a pretty big dswing last month (at least in terms of imsabuys), and the main reason I grinded through it was I was confident I was playing well, not tilting, etc.
Good ways to checkup: 1: Talking about hands over AIM 2: PokerEV 3: Pokerstove 4: Posting hands in the forum |
