Re: Post a difference between NFL and college rules
In college a player on the team thats punting can be in the endzone and make contact with the ball and it not be ruled a touchback as long as the ball does not touch in the end zone. In the NFL the punting team player cannot touch the end zone and still keep the ball from crossing into the endzone. If he does, its a touchback. |

In college, once a punt has broken the plane it's a touchback, even if it's in the air. So if a guy jumps in the air into the endzone catches it and throws it back (think about saving balls in basketball) it's still a touchback. In the NFL it has to hit the ground or be touched by someone in the endzone. |

Re: Post a difference between NFL and college rules
In college, the winner of the cointoss can defer and take the ball at the start of the second half. You cannot defer in the NFL, although you can in Madden.

Re: Post a difference between NFL and college rules
In NCAA football, a player is automatically down when a body part other than a hand or foot touches the ground. In NFL, a player has to be touched down if a body part other than a hand or foot touches the ground.

In the NFL the clock stops on a sack (until they reset). In college it doesn't.

Re: Post a difference between NFL and college rules
The best players in the NFL get paid millions of dollars by their teams, and the best players in college football get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars by boosters.

Re: Post a difference between NFL and college rules
In college, you have to have 4 players on each side of the ball when kicking off. In NFL, you can put all 10 on one side and create a clusterfuck on onsides kicks.
