Permanent videogame forum?

i clicked the forum link to flash-validate my assumption right before i posted that. it was visually confirmed, at least for me.

but then again video games discussion is over here so i don't have a valid signal-to-"noise" comparison, and looking again i see that not so many of the threads have been bumped today (11/21).

i agree with you about perceptions but if it's enough to keep people away the result is still bad. plus starting a new forum might give video/board an extra oomph of traffic from places like oot (which is probably its best source of customers). and they might not give PoG the time of day even if an explicit "video games too!" announcement is made. it's a good discussion to have either way though and you're the PoG expert.

I think videogames should be part of PoG's domain permanently

I've occasionally visited POG to look for video games threads but they get lost in all the werewolf threads. I'd like a separate forum for VG.

well right now all video game threads are being moved here [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

if people game to POG for video games it wouldn't get lost... i could try starting a bunch myself when this mod playground ends

Yeah, but people don't come to POG for VG threads. They're usually in OOT or BBV (at least the ones I've seen).

I also doubt that they wouldn't get lost. POG has insane traffic in the WW threads.

If POG got recognition for full video game control (I think it does have it anyway, but people still post in OOT cause they don't really know POG or care), traffic would increase substantially, and the forum would be alot better off because things are definitely dying down around there. I have started a few DS related threads in POG that got little interest, and a couple other VG threads that didn't get alot of traffic. I don't even frequent POG very often anymore, but if everyone knew that was the definite place for VG's, the forum would pick up alot and I would definitely become a more active member again. I'm basically phasing myself out of POG (and as far as I can tell, other regulars are too), but VG recognition would boost the forum alot.

video game threads get lost a lot faster in OOT than pog

There has been some success with video game threads in POG. The FFXII thread (that is now moved to mod's playground) stayed near the top for a while.
