sooooooooo sweet! I usually know about these things but this slipped by! I'm on west coast- hoping LA bright lights & smog doesn't prevent viewage of the sky! Thx OP!!!

ok westies in LA...very clear, full view of moon in my area - beach (south bay) AND it's totally visable from my patio SO yea!!! Anyone else staying up for this??? I made a drink...and hangin for 3 hours for this, means more drinks; which i'll probably get loaded, fall asleep outside and miss the whole damn thing! Not to mention- the neighbors seeing me at 7am and wondering wtf!!???!
I'd love to chat/IM w/those that are staying up (PM me, i'm not posting my IM on the open board) I'd be real curious what the east coast is seeing at the same time...moving west to me..even Hawaii. I'll take my laptop out...which will create the ultimate image of me in the morning, passed out in my beach chair w/my laptop. Hopefully i won't drool.........

With a lunar eclipse, we should all be seeing the same thing, at least as long as we are all in nightfall.

edit to add that I can see the the shadow starting to appear on the upper left edge of the moon.

Damn, it's 4 PM where I am. I wish there was a solar eclipse so I could watch the lunar eclipse.

ah, gotcha...i see that too. Where in the sky is the moon for you tho??? Here it's very high, slightly to the right.

Turns out that I can see it from my roof.

Good news: No Zombies.

Bad News: I'm lurking on my roof at 5am with a flashlight and a camera. I sure hope none of my neighbors see me and think I'm doing something creepy.

ur taking pics...i have my camera too but no clue what setting to put it on...sony cybershot (it has the little icon pic settings) Thx! Can really start to see the see the round shape coming on it! Very cool.
No worries about looking creepy...it's 2am here and i'm out drinkin w/a laptop (and i discovered that i can't type for sh-t in the dark! Maybe it's the booz??? NAH!!!!) So i'm freakin creepy girl! Nice we can bond on that!!!
I'm gonna get my binoculars...see if that is cool.
