Tx,

Thread.

It was apparently Dids who banned him even though he doesn't mod that forum. Seems pretty arbitrary but worse things have happened, such as Who's NOW on ESPN.

[/ QUOTE ]

Dids has said in some other forum that he's got a special badge that lets him make bad modding decisions across the entire site (I don't remember exactly, but he may have said that he's only authorized to use that power for "racist" comments).

Okay, crappy thread, no need to start a thread on the subject.

That being said, OP's comment was not racist. OP used the word hispanic which is the preferred nomenclature, and I dont see where a member of the latin american-mexican-hispanic culture would take offense to his remark, despite it being something so common it shouldn't bother him enough to start a thread about it.

I might be incorrect, but I thought that KyleB was giving the generic "racist ban" response as seen in other forums where a poster makes a comment about a culture of people, and someone chimes in with the "racist ban" remark in an effort to sort of water down the racism kick that existed a few months back, i.e., he didn't think it was racist, evidenced by the fact he didn't ban the OP....?

Whatever the case, re-instate the OP and tell him to create better threads with more content, and to save silly remarks like this for his blog.

It turns out it was only a two days temp-ban.

Maybe we should add the word "Hispanic" to the list of [censored] words.

If we get the mudslinging forum (as I envision it), Dids will be personna non grata.

QFT.

being aggrieved by someone's inclusion of the word "by" in that sentence (especially when they probably just read it off an auto-cue) is probably the most pithy reason to start a thread this week*.

*i was going to including a longer time frame, but then realised how many crap threads there are in the world.
