I think the sounds at AP are annoying as is the animation (IIRC, there wasn't an option to turn-off animation there).

Their constant changing of terms for bonuses and rakeback lately have me even more suspicious of them.

FWIW - I don't think all U.S. only sites completely suck.
And I'm not sure what non U.S. sites are so incredibly fantastic by comparison (then again, I'm obviously not playing on those sites either).

Umm...the reason to play at AP is cuz everyone here hates it and doesn't play there. Thus, there aren't very many good players there. If you're a NL player (ring or tourney) there really isn't a better site for a low to mid volume player. If you like to play more than 6 tables this site isn't for you though.

People rip on AP, FTP, Stars, WPEx and every other site out there.
Are there any US-friendly sites that don't suck?

[/ QUOTE ]

Every site has at least one feature that some people won't like, but that doesn't mean they all suck. If you aren't reliant on HUDs, I'd definitely recommend WSEX. The pros of 100% rakeback far outweigh the cons of the site.

Absolute poker - whats it like?

NOT Goooot!

About the only good thing I found was the rakeback and bonuses, which they have since changed - not Gooooot.

And, the points system was interesting.............

My experience was this:

I have many, many points.
I decide to look at the store/for cash deals.
Computer says, "How many points do you want to transfer to the store?" So, I transfer everything so I can look at whats available.

For whatever reason, it never connected me to the store. I email. Then I email again, since now all my points are gone.

1 month goes by

I try to log on and my password does not work. I email, I email again, I bitch on 2+2. I am out a few dollars in my account and all my points, and they have NEVER responded to 10 emails over several months.

Good luck.

It's very good overall. Easy to cash out. Good games. Better bonus than most of the larger sites. Rakeback available. I think the software is fine.

..... and the number one reason to play there .........,.,.,

You get to put up a picture of your dog if you like.

I play there for the MTT action. IMO there is really good value in their daily rebuy tournaments and the 60k and 150k weekend tournaments.

I have had zero cashout issues with them. The support is slow but reasonably effective.

The graphics are HORRIBLE, but easily modified.

Ever made an agreement with somebody and then had them decide they wanted to change the terms? So you decide the new terms are not so bad so you continue to hold your end of the bargain then they decide they want new terms less favorable to you, you then decide you will agree. Then after a little longer they decide they still want new terms favoring only them even though you had agreed two times before on the terms and they continue to reneg. That is what doing business with Absolute is like. You never know when they will decide they don't like their own terms both of you have agreed to abide by. They will change terms on you in a second and point to their rogue T&C's that say they can even though you have already started clearing the bonus, agreed to rakeback terms or agreed to an existing affiliate agreement.

Is this somebody you want holding your money?

Awesome description and 100% accurate.
