Re: can dogs have nightmares?
[ QUOTE ]
I've definitely seen dogs that looked like they were having wet dreams. [/ QUOTE ] I agree with a previous poster who said the dog probably just doesn't like being alone, in the dark, by himself. |

Re: can dogs have nightmares?
Who knows what is in the mind of a dog. This lady sounds like she has projected her imbalances, her neuroses onto her dog. Listening to what people tell you about their pets tells you more about them.

[/ QUOTE ] Yea, but when the dog is clearly asleep and is whimpering and crying out plus moving around agitatedly--yet still asleep-- it sure looks like a nightmare. |

Re: can dogs have nightmares?
Dogs definitely have dreams, even dreams that seem to disturb them. This is a totally different question than whether the dog gets to sleep wherever it wants, just because its brain is capable of dreams.

And if a werewolf was having a nightmare, it would be a weremare. And if a Care Bear was having one, it would be a carebearmare. |

Re: can dogs have nightmares?
Growing up my sister's first dog routinely had what appeared to be nightmares. I figured it was anxiety about being owned by a family with latent canine eating tendencies.
