Virtually ALL covers never should have been made. There are, of course, some standouts (All Along The Watchtower [Hendrix], Planet Caravan [Pantera], Down In The Park [Foo Fighters], Last Caress [Metallica]), but generally speaking, most are crap.

Off the top of my head:

Guns and Roses doing Raw Power was just plain abysmal, and that Mrs. Robinson crap by The Lemonheads hurt my mind with its inanity.

I know I'll catch some heat for this, but I think GnR's version of Knockin' on Heaven's Door is one of the worst covers of all time.
