Just get a cheap name brand drip machine for $30 bucks or whatever it is. Don't get one of those french press things, the coffee in there doesn't taste right IMO.

Go to a good grocery store and look for a nice premium coffee, regular columbian blend. Something around $7-9 is good. I just get preground because the grinders at the groc store are rarely cleaned so you get all kinds of wierd other blends mixed in with yours.

Don't forget the filters.

It's just a plastic, single-use filter. Here are the steps:

(1) Put the plastic thing on top of a cup;
(2) Put a paper filter inside;
(3) Put 3 big teaspoons of ground coffee;
(4) Add boiling water.

get a french press. very easy to make coffee with these and she might be impressed. plus it's most definitely cheaper than a drip coffee machine.

bad advice - properly made coffee with a french press needs to be freshly ground

I love coffee and a simple drip coffee maker and some dunkin donuts coffee should be fine. Us coffee fiends will drink anything if there is no alternative (well I will...i just need my fix)

I had 'cowboy coffee' while camping. Basically was chewing the [censored]. Didnt care, needed it.

I have never tasted coffee simply because the smell is just terrible.

[/ QUOTE ]

Weird, I love the smell but hate the taste. Much like cinnamon-scented soap.
