I think u played that AK hand way too fast especially in a deep stack tourny where you still had 100 BB's after he check raised you on the flop. Not saying you may not have gone broke there but with your chip position you probably didnt have to as cheesebob wasn't doing anything crazy and you were either way ahead or way behind. With deep stacks you didn't have to go broke on that hand as you were sitting in top 10 with plenty of poker left to be paid.

Default For those with the time... (level 1/2)

...please go over my tourney report and let me know what I'm doing wrong. I went out in 61st out of 971 donking off my stack with TPTK... don't know if it was unavoidable but REALLY want criticism/feedback. I will make one post per 2 levels.

Of the first 10 hands I complete the SB once, otherwise my VP$IP is zero.

Hand 11:
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (9 handed) converter

Hero (t4960)
CO (t4890)
Button (t3970)
SB (t4620)
BB (t6700)
UTG (t5410)
UTG+1 (t4970)
MP1 (t4970)
MP2 (t4510)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
4 folds, Hero calls t20, CO calls t20, 1 fold, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (t80) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB bets t60, BB calls t60, Hero folds

With the blinds so low compared to the stacks, I don't have a problem playing weak/tight and waiting for my monster. I feel good about not raising PF and good about the fold.

So I continue folding (completing the SB once) for another 11 hands, until I pick up
Hand #23
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (9 handed) converter

Hero (t4900)
MP1 (t5270)
MP2 (t3240)
MP3 (t3710)
CO (t6580)
Button (t5920)
SB (t5640)
BB (t4940)
UTG (t8800)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
1 fold, Hero raises to t200, 4 folds, Button raises to t380, 2 folds, Hero calls t180.
Button had been active in quite a few other pots, so I had trouble giving him credit for a better pocket pair. Although, at this point, if he has 2 overs and it's a coin flip I'm happy just to take a flop, so that's why I'm not coming overtop of his reraise.

Flop: (t790) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button checks.

Turn: (t790) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets t400, Hero calls t400.
Anyone not slowplaying here?

River: (t1590) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets t1200, Hero raises to t4120, Button folds.
So I scared him off with my allin . Of course he may have had air the whole time and wasn't going to pay off even a minraise. Anyone dislike the way I played this hand?

Final Pot: t6910

Fold out another 6 hands and I find this sexy little beast looking up at me:

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (9 handed) converter

Hero (t6880)
MP3 (t5130)
CO (t3210)
Button (t3670)
SB (t10050)
BB (t6970)
UTG (t6520)
UTG+1 (t4910)
MP1 (t8760)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
1 fold, UTG+1 raises to t210, 1 fold, Hero raises to t6880, 5 folds, UTG+1 calls t4700 (All-In).

Flop: (t11835) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in)

Turn: (t11835) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: (t11835) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: t11835

UTG+1 shows 77 and I'm like "yay me". Based on the size of his bet and his previous patterns, I did in fact correctly put him on a mid-pocket pair, which is my justification for my otherwise retarded overbet.

WOW! For the rest of the 15/30 level all I do is:
Complete the SB twice
Put in two bets chasing with a T9
Limp/fold AJ

weak/tight fish? Or just good play considering donks are paying off all monsters? Please respond!

Thanks for ur comments, and I would like to hear from others too. There was a little bit of 'deep thinking' I was doing on this hand that I'll explain later in my tourney report.
Mind you, when I "deep think", that's when I get in the most trouble LOL.
HAPPY NEW YEAR !!

Default Re: For those with the time... (level 3/4/5)

At this point in the tourney I have a much larger than average stack but haven't played a hand aggressively in ~30 hands. I do not subscribe to the 'use a big stack to bully' theory... at least not in $11 events.

So I finally pick up an interesting piece of garbage in the SB:

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (9 handed) converter

Hero (t11470)
BB (t4140)
UTG (t2885)
UTG+1 (t4590)
MP1 (t13255)
MP2 (t10835)
MP3 (t15285)
CO (t2733)
Button (t7410)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG calls t50, 1 fold, MP1 calls t50, MP2 calls t50, 1 fold, CO calls t50, Button calls t50, Hero completes, BB checks.

I play ANY 2 CARDS if I'm getting 10:1 PF. In this case I'm getting 11:1 so 92 is all I need.

Flop: (t350) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (7 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, UTG checks, MP1 bets t50, MP2 calls t50, CO folds, Button calls t50, Hero calls t50, BB folds, UTG folds.
No clue where I am in the hand but it's an easy call.

Turn: (t550) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
Hero checks, MP1 bets t100, MP2 calls t100, Button folds, Hero calls t100.
At this point I ASSUME I'm up against a better nine. I am check/calling because there is a chance that I'm not.

River: (t850) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero checks, MP1 bets t50, MP2 raises to t750, Hero calls t750, MP1 calls t700.
Final Pot: t3100
I ended up splitting with MP2 who was playing 97. MP1 had 65.

OMG LOL! [/insert weak-tight play] After this, throughout the entire 25/50 blind level, 30 minutes long, I complete the SB twice and limp-fold AT twice. [/end weak-tight play]

MMM... kind of hard posting this when ur half drunk on new years (no I wasn't drunk playing the tourney). Anyway if I can get some feedback I'll post the rest otherwise I'll assume NO INTEREST and stop spamming. (p.s. it gets interesting later on, I promise)

Fold preflop, or maybe raise, but don't call. That's not weak/tight, that's loose/passive. Good fold on the flop, though.

Don't open raise 10xBB unless that's your normal raise (hint: it shouldn't be.) If you're that scared, limp, which there is nothing wrong with.

Wrong. 92s would be a call since it's not very hard to play a flush draw, even with giant stacks. 92o...let's put it this way: you have no clue how to play this hand OOP (as evidenced by the fact that you put in chips after a bet and 2 calls - did you think your hand had any chance of being good? Were you drawing for a two? What'd you think would happen if you got there?) so you are not only wasting chips preflop, you're wasting them postflop. Don't bother.

Thank you VERY much for your feedback. I'll try to incorporate some of ur criticisms into my game, especially the 92o one.
Oh, BTW 10x BB is DEFINETELY NOT my normal PF raise (my standard is 4xBB plus 1x for each limper plus 1xthe total amount of any antes). When I raise 10X what I'm saying is "I have a really good hand and I've observed that this table has some donkeys so let's go!"
Regarding 92 offsuit: So 11:1 PF isn't good enough for a trash hand, eh? I thought 10:1 justified playing 72off but I guess I'm wrong. I'd be interested in learning more about when it's okay (if ever) to play complete garbage into a field of limpers.
