im just wondering, what happens if youre in AC and get carded but dont have ID? Some of the regulars I play with tell me that they take your chips, but many argued that cant be legal - anyone know the ruling? do people get to cash out? and then leave?

Well in theory they shouldn't let it get far enough so that you are sitting in a game with chips before they card you. At the borgata I ussualy get carded by the chick at the computer when I get on the board. I would imagine if you get carded while in a game they would let you cash out and throw your ass out the door. Kind of like if you get caught counting in BJ they let you take your chips and leave.

Terrible idea. All it takes is one dude to make a scene about you being underage. Which I don't know the rules of if he calls the floor over and you're underage in a pot. I'd assume your hand would be dead, but again who knows. I wouldn't risk it without an excellent fake.

In Nevada the law says you may not profit from underage gambling. You will not be paid if you hit a bad beat jackpot, say, or do any other gambling that generates a required W2G or other ID check (slot machine jackpot, large cash transaction at the cashier, whatever). Dunno 'bout New Jersey.

On the other hand, failing to prove your age doesn't prove you are underage. So being unable to come up with ID may prompt a "you'll have to leave" rather than "you'll have to surrender your chips and leave". But it could prompt a "we will keep your chips at the cage until you can provide proof of age".

I've played a bunch of cards in AC before i was 21, but it really is a bad idea.

My old man is a juvenille defense attorney, and has defended multiple people for gambling underage in AC. You lose your license too, which f'n blows.

This is waaay more likely to happen outside of the poker room (craps/bj/etc.), but with the poker boom i know for at least some period of time the cops swept the borg occasionally.

I however have never had any problems, and some 17 year old i know was playing there and was just asked to cash out and leave.

I don't think Woods is a great idea. I haven't been 21 for five years time and they carded me last weekend.

// so flattered though.

they card alot of people at foxwoods. the waitresses tell me that theyve been carding many kids and many kids leave the games all the time as "they left their id in the car". if you dont order alcohol youll probably be alright if you get past the security guards and casino entrances, but they rarely card and arent very strict at all. i often get carded when i order alcohol but ive only been carded once by a security guard, ever. i dont think ive ever been carded without ordering alcohol other than the security guard instance. however, i have seen people get carded without ordering alcohol especially if they look young.

im 21 but most people say i look older for my age. if you look young you might get carded but if you look older you should be fine. just go. if they card you cash out and leave, no biggy.

foxwoods spreads 5/10NL daily and 10/25NL on the weekends. say hi to me if you go.
