Re: Thoughts on, and Experiences with - Acupuncture
I know at least 2 musicians whose careers were ended (according to them) by botched acupuncture jobs.

Re: Thoughts on, and Experiences with - Acupuncture
[ QUOTE ]
The philosophy behind chinese medicine is great I think, acupuncture is about activating the bodies already there healing powers (as explained to me by the acupuncturist) which strikes me as quite smart, especially in comparison to what the last doctor did which was give me a lot of anti inflamatory medicine. [/ QUOTE ] so your last doctor gave you an anti-inflammatory, something which we know will reduce pain and swelling, but it sounds much smarter to poke yourself with needles to activate your body's mystical healing powers? |

Re: Thoughts on, and Experiences with - Acupuncture
My mother went to an acupuncturist to help her quit smoking when she got a positive review from a friend. At the end of her first session the guy put what was essentially a staple in her ear, telling her to keep it there for a week and that it would help curb her urges. After twelve hours in which the staple continued to get more and more painful her ear began to bleed. The people at the hospital removed it but treated her like she was some bitch gone crazy with a staple gun.
