have a feeling that the games are going to get tuffer very soon

[/ QUOTE ]

The games have already been getting tougher for starters.

Here's the average # of 'good players' per hand by month this year in my database:

Jan: .90
Feb: .84
Mar: .93
Apr: 1.12
May: 1.26
Jun: 1.17
Jul: 1.40

When you factor in the rediculous rake ($6/100 at 100NL on average) you get shrinking winrates which, in turn, means more and bigger downswings.

But that's another subject.

I don't think a whole lot of micro-stakes players are really going to jump into the book and suddenly get good. The reason I feel this way is that most micro-stakes players aren't trying to be the best no-limit players in the world. They're throwing change around because it's fun. Those that ARE trying to get better and improve their game most likely will, or have, regardless of this book. There are many other resources to improve at poker; this site for starters. (Which is certainly better than what any book can offer).

Yeah i know what you mean, i forget that somepeople cant apply information they learn as well as others.

Also more importanly people dont try that hard to get better at poker, My brother for instance sees all the success i have and now wants to learn poker. I tell him that he must learn all the basic [censored] on his own and i set him up with 2p2 and the books he needs to read. Hes dragging his feet. I forget that poker was truly a passion for me and that i was dedicated to it the same as eating, sleeping, and breathing. Most others do not have that dedication to get better and just like to read a few tips here and there and continue to donate at the tables.

Also, regarding game conditions, the time of day you play right now is important to winrate. Night games are still fantastic. It's the day games I was mostly referring to. Over some decent samples, my nighttime (>4pm) winrate is twice as high as my daytime.

[/ QUOTE ]

Living in the UK sucks for this - I just get the "day" games when I play in the evening. For those of us who don't get to play night games, roughly what bb/100 am I missing out on?

I think you guys in the US should state your bb/100 net of tax, to make me feel better.

Another reason why online >> live...

It sounds like the plot of one of those flashy casino heist movies -- a team of thieves, armed with high tech equipment concocts a scheme to steal vast sums of money from big shot gamblers.

It really did happen, although law enforcement officials are still unwilling to talk about it. Gaming agents in New Jersey arrested four suspects, including a Las Vegas man known internationally as an expert in how to thwart casino thieves...

QFT.

Most players would like to be better, but many of them aren't interested in putting very much work into it. After all, it's a game and supposed to be fun, right?! Work is not fun! (Of course, winning $$$ is fun and well worth the effort in our opinion)

This never works because you get some guy who plays 1-2 tables during peak hours with a sample of about 10,000 hands who proves he's crushing the game and better than everybody else. Then the rest lie about their winrates so they won't be outdone (why include that session where I tilted off a few stacks? That wasn't really how I normally play). In summary, it becomes a big dick waving contest while everybody is fully dressed and nobody knows who's lying or not.
