The sippin_criss thing is amazing.

This guy in the Mod's Playground said that he hasn't agreed with a single videogame post I've made. Me blasting Eternal Darkness was the last straw. My other highlights were that Banjo-Kazooie is only slightly less good than Mario 64, and that the original Zelda is a tad overrated because of the fact that you have to randomly bomb/burn everything.

Yeah, how can one play 250 SNG's on a Saturday or Sunday. Must be an asocial one.

[/ QUOTE ]

a lot of people were trying to chat with you think weekend... including me

btw why do you have a pic of bax as your avatar???

[/ QUOTE ]

Wow that's awesome, I've had people accuse me of being a bot in chat before, but I've never played more than 160 or so in a day. The Bax pic doesn't have much reason I just thought it would be funny and I was sick of people hitting on me thinking I was Shana Hiatt.

Also, the 360 controller is better for FPSes because they put the left analog stick in the right place.

The Wii will be better for controlling FPSes. It functions much like the keyboard+mouse combo and offers impressive responsiveness and controll.

Also some sports games may seem gimmicky on the Wii, but most will be a lot of fun. I've messed around with the Wii Sports package a bit and they all work very well with the Wiimote. I can see football being odd on the system, but baseball, golf, and tennis are all incredibly intuitive and fun.

I've played with the Xbox360 extensively and aside from HD graphics it doesn't bring anything to the table. Sure it has some fun exclusive games, but the Wii is attempting to revolutionize gameplay which to me is very exciting.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm not much of a video game guy but I bought the Wii yesterday so here's my little first thoughts review. It's very different... Take that as both a positive and a negative at the moment but I think that once I get more used to it the positive will outweigh the negative. You do look like a knob when you're playing but it's fun being a little more active and unless you're reallllly lazy then no, you do not get tired.

Tennis was actually really cool - played that for about 10 minute and then played Zelda for about an hour. I was probably expecting too much from Zelda due to all of the amazing reviews but so far it was a little boring for me - once I start killing things it'll probably get better. I bought Excite Truck as well but haven't played that yet.

I wish they would have shipped a component cable because it only comes with Composite and you need to buy a special component cable from Nintendo... That was kind of lame. You aren't buying Wii to be blown away by the graphics but at least provide an adapter so we can plug standard component cable into it to squeeze out some better resolution.

OP, I would say XBox 360 is the reasonably easy choice for you - if PS3 was plentiful then maybe that would be better for the types of games you play. It seems to me that the key to picking Wii games is playing games that were designed FOR the Wii. For me, someone who likes playing games you can quickly learn, the Wii seems like the right choice. Not so sure it is Balla though, in fact, it is probably as un-balla as you can get for next gen consoles.

rvg

BTW, Balla is spending $4K on a high end gaming PC which can already compare to the PS3 and XBox360 in Resolution / processing power plus serve as a PVR, control lighting in your house through X10 AND attach to your 30" LCD and let you play some poker.

A question to some of the more experienced players:

DOES IT EVER END?

AND THANK GOD FOR RAKEBACK.

Another WTF? hand from my last session:

Poker Stars
No Limit Holdem Tournament
Blinds: t100/t200
(Ante: t25)
4 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
UTG: t2080
Button: t6905
Hero: t2250
BB: t2265

Pre-flop: (4 players) Hero is SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
2 folds, Hero raises all-in t2225, BB goes into the tank and finally calls t2025 (pot was t2525).

Flop: 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (t4550, 1 player + 1 all-in - Main pot: t4550)

Turn: 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (t4550, 1 player + 1 all-in - Main pot: t4550)

River: J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (t4550, 1 player + 1 all-in - Main pot: t4550)

Results:
Final pot: t4550
Hero showed Qd 7c
BB showed 5c Js

Needless to say, that wasn't in the range of hands I thought he might call with.
