So I wanna take an aggressive shot at 2/4 with just under 20 buyins.. is there anything different between the 1/2 regs and the 2/4 regs, or is it like the jump from .5/1 to 1/2 (more aggression, but not necessarily smarter aggression)?

Sweet, best news I've heard all week, thanks guys. I was always under the impression that it was a 5k limit. Did they change the policy or am I just an idiot?

I haven't played the 1/2 in so long I honestly don't remember the differences, but I would highly discourage taking a shot w/ less than 20 buy in's. If you're a winning player @ the 1/2 (which I assume you are and that's why you're trying to move up), just play there for another 2 weeks, save up 30-40 buy in's for this level and take a shot then. Best of luck if you do try it though....

There is definitely a decent jump in the skill between regulars, but if you're doing well at $200nl you should be ok at $400nl. 20 buyins is really shallow though, if I were you I'd perhaps take a 2-3 buyin shot and see how it goes, dropping down if you lose the buyins. I think your best off following GD's advice and just stay at $200nl for a little while and grind out more of a bankroll.

is it really that painful to make $150/hr for another couple of weeks until you know for sure you have earnt the right to move up? people are always asking about this, it just seems like a lack of confidence in your own abilities like you want to run good into a real bankroll. if you are a solid winner at your current level grinding a bankroll for the one above should take very little time.

Big checks have never been an issue for me. And they always arrive within 10 days.

nits. 20 buyins is more than enough for a shot as long as he knows he's taking a shot.
