That he didn't want the ball or wasn't good at it? Regardless, I like the idea of an inside scorer(KG), a long bomber(Allen) and a guy like Pierce who can shoot from the outside or drive the hoop in crunch time. Celts now have some weapons to win the close games.

The thing about Simmons' poker analogies I don't get is why he still does them. Yeah, we here at 2p2 can make fun of his simplistic, incorrect, layman's view of the game, but considering his general audience, they weren't the worst thing ever. But why still do them? I just don't see the point.

Minny gets four players under the age of 25, Theo Ratliff and two first round draft picks.
Boston gets Kevin Garnett, a 31-year old who has been in the league for 13 years. Boy, Garnett better get them to the Finals before he retires. Boston pretty much gave up their long-term possibilities and want to win now. If that doesn't happen and those 4 players turn to be better than average players (and the 2 1st rounders they draft), then this deal will look great for Minnesota.
