Ill start...What did yall think of the epilogue? It was probably the only part of the book i was disappointed with...I mean heck after 750+ pages..She couldnt extend it out another 20 or so to give us a real "where are they now" situation. I wanted to confirm that Harry and Ginny and Ron/Hermione ended up together but I also would have liked to know what else was going to happen.

I mean lets be honest. Harry wasnt going to ever just lead a normal life, but JK made it sound like he was just a plain old person.

The epilogue was pretty crappy IMO. It contributed nothing, and the book would have been better without it.

Yeh, I didn't like it either. It should've been an epilogue from one month later, perhaps... Or an epilogue that far into the future where things aren't all rosy. I'd have preferred it to be semi-happy. I did like the bit where Harry says how Snape is the bravest headmaster ever etc.

[/ QUOTE ]

ehh the epi worked fine enough for me...basically made the story come full circle..harry/draco/herm/ron first introduced as kids heading off to hogwarts and it ends with them sending off their kids to hogwarts. Plus it shows how mature Harry as a adult had become in realizing how huge of a role Snape played in saving both his and all his friends lives. Even post Snape dying I figure Harry still might hold some bitterness towards Snape given his age.

In her first tell-all interview since the release of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” J.K. Rowling told TODAY’s Meredith Vieira she “probably will” publish a Potter encyclopedia, promising many more details about her beloved characters and the fate of the wizarding world beyond the few clues provided in the seventh book’s epilogue.

Yeah I saw that and was pleased to hear...looks like it may have been her plan all along..basically an 8th book letting us know the whole story..she had to know everybody was goign to be unhappy with that epilogue.

Randomish sidethought/observation but when there in the cafe after the wedding, hemoine preforms the memory charms on the death eaters after saying that she only understands the theory and never having done it before, but wouldnt this be the same type of thing that she did to her parents to send them to australia?

uhh I could be way off here, but didn't dumbledore see himself with the 3 hallows that would make him invincible? I think this was the whole point of dumbledore saying that he wasn't that much different from voldemort because he to wanted power, but knew that it was his weakness so he didn't become the minister, look for the hallows etc.

[/ QUOTE ]

When Dumbledore was younger and friends with Grindewald, Dumbledore definitely would have seen himself with the hallows. When he was older, I'm certain he saw himself with his family.

I think this is part of the reason why Dumbledore tells Harry (in HBP?) that Harry is a better man than he is.
