The film is quality, one of the few times I've ever laughed all the way through a film in a cinema. I couldn't believe some of what was shown - any idea how much was cut for American audiences? In the "3 minute scene" here parts of the picture were covered with black rectangles, it didn't seem much longer than 3 minutes though, so it doesn't sound like you could have missed too much. [/ QUOTE ] coming soon to DVD... BORAT! Uncut! Uncensored! Uncircumcised! oh boy, thats going to be interesting. TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] |

Saying parts of the movie were staged are just flat out ignorant. People think the Pamela Anderson scene was staged, did anyone pay attention to the way she responded to his marriage proposal? She was geniunely creeped out by him, her screaming and flailing around while in the sack was priceless. Let's try and remember Pamela Anderson isn't that good of an actress. [/ QUOTE ] That scene was staged dude There is a version of a similar scene on a beach where it wasnt staged, but it wasnt as good |

I'm going with a couple friends Tuesday night after work, but I couldn't wait and found myself a bootleg. Can't wait to see this again because the bootleg was bad and probably took away a lot of the movie (ie you can't see the captions on the bootleg).
I alughed hard for a minute like I never have on the part with the roach. |

Borat 26.4 Mill on a limited release.
Those are incredible numbers for a limited release. Like I said this is the very forst time I left a theater with a headache from laughing so hard. Glad to see most of America has a sense of humor after all. I can see some elitist jackasses not liking it, such as in the lounge. Really it just makes fun of people's ignorance by being blatantly ignorant. If that makes me ignorant then so be it because it is among the funniest film's I have ever seen in a theater. |

I liked this movie, but it sorta reminded me of the beavis and butthead movie. If you are very familiar with SBC's work, a lot of it seems like a rehash. But the damned wrestling/chase scene and dinner were still hilarious.

According to figures from showbizdata.com, "Borat" took in a whopping $8.925 million on just 800 screens, with a per screen average of $10,663. At this rate, "Borat" should take in around $30 million for the weekend. Next Friday, it expands to 2,200 screens, and then the box office will be limitless. The government of Kazakhstan will have just a few days to suddenly embrace the fun, as "Borat" could wind up grossing $200 million to become the biggest comedy of all time. It was a good movie, but I honestly don't think it stands the test of time. I certainly don't think it was one of the funniest movies of all time. I think in 5 years time, it will be forgotten.

From showbizdata:
Biggest November weekend ever - Harry Potter Goblet of Fire - 102M on 3858 screens = 26.5k/screen Borat - est 18.9M on 837 screens = 22k/screen Not really a fair comparison because a wider release certainly would have pushed the per screen avg down, but amazing nonetheless. |
