Guys, I remember when legislation was passed regarding LBP in federally funded housing, it took years before it had any practical effect. Remain composed.

If the bill actually mirrors the one the House passed, do not assume that nothing will go into effect quickly. It's true the statute had some provisions about regulation being promulgated within a certain time period, 270 days I think. But some things - like the increased penalties to the cardroom operators - likely take effect almost immediately. And whenever all the provisions are meant to apply, the parties affected might decide to alter their behavior in advance.

Look, I'm trying. But poker is my JOB. They're outlawing MY JOB. It isn't like I might get laid off, and have to find work elsewhere. They're potentially eliminating a lucrative, fun, ultra-flexible DREAM of mine. This could cost me seven figures. Literally. I can earn a comfortable living at my small business that I'll have to restart, but not what I was going to have with poker.

Is there any chance of someone bringing up the huge amount of phone calls they received and that the IG bill should be looked at seperately?

Sigh, what a rediculous govermental system we have. Rule by a bunch of average fools trying to make a buck or promote ignorant ideas they never had the sight to question from their upbringing. "Gambling is bad, poker is gambling!" Yay for "freedom".

My understanding is that now we're hoping for some unrelated issue to show up and derail the agenda for the evening so that this bill doesn't get voted on. If this hits the floor it's over.
