After seeing it in this light, I realise that El D's solution is, in fact, correct. Thank you DD for laying it out for me so clearly. If you, yourself, do not see it then I suggest reading the OP more closely with respect to 'pocket pair'.

Well since running AA and running QQ answers are not accepted my guess is that hero loses AT LIFE, because he's a professional poker player making a living at 1/2 NL and villain is a movie actor or some such who has sex with all kinds of hot broads.
