I definitely think that some of their, how shall I put this, uninspired (?) play over the last couple of months has a large part to do with the fact that they haven't been challenged in the division at all this year (whether consciously or subconsciously). So they may still be able to "kick it into high gear" if they should need to do so.

Kicking into high gear when you want to is sometimes easier said than done. But having said that, I don't think the Sox have played their best baseball yet this year.

Hard to be amused right now but I was when Gagne walked off the mound at the end of the inning to a crescendo of boos. Seems like more Sox fans today at Camden Yards aka Fenway Park south.
