well, those books are on limit, but thoery of poker or the newer nl books would be aplicable, as well as tourny for adv. also the newer supersystem is good for a little on lots of games [/ QUOTE ] Oh I know they're on limit, but still are they worthwhile just for a deeper understanding of general poker concepts which could transfer to tourneys/NL? Plus I do play limit occasionally live. |

[/ QUOTE ] I just play the $320 qual they have on stars each sunday. There is usually 25-30 seats. I've played it 5 times now and won three seats. The other one I played was the full tilt qual for the $2620 event. same set up, bout 25 seats. I played one, won it. If I was smart I'd just play quals for a living. I run goot. (course, I never cash in the actual events. small flaw in the system I hope to correct someday.) |

Re: OT: [censored] thread, August, READ RULES IN TOP POST
This looks a lot like TT, maybe 55. Flat called yr 3bet, so I'm guessing he's not AA/KK. Does he have a read on your 3 bet range? If so that might make QQ less likely, eg if he thinks there's a good chance your light, he might go over the top. Flop call doesn't really help, could be strong or weak, but with his aggression it looks like weak (and a float)or a monster. What I disliked most is the $54 on the turn. If he's floating you, surely that bet should be bigger? $54 looks like he's pricing you out of a spade draw/combo draw, but wanting the call anyway. So, his range here; AK spades, AK, AQ, QQ, (JJ raises your flop - yes?) TT,55, 66-99, KQ/QJ/KJ prob raises that flop or folds to the 3bet, ATs looks possible. I'm leaving in the smaller pairs, coz I can see him calling the 3 bet with them, guessing you missed the flop w AK or have JJ, then feeling comfortable with the turn Q which makes a threatening board. Then $54 may just be a bet to get you to fold AK,AJs(?) JJ, 99, coz maybe his pair is good.
If so, pokerstove is giving you c70% equity in this hand. Take out 88-66 and you are still 57%. |
