Bullpens in the field of play are ridiculous. For christ's sake, in high school we had partially shielded bullpens.

I understand the significance of Wrigley Field and its historical importance

What I don't understand is why they haven't rebuilt the grandstand on the same block

with modern technology, it's more than achievable and there would be modern clubhouses, bullpens, luxury boxes, escalators to upper levels, clean aisles, and no polls blocking 1/5 of the crowd's view of the infield

I heard Daley is going to get it a historical site which means no modifications to the structure

BTW---I don't have a problem with the basket and I'm very happy that Wrigley actually goes back pretty deep in the corners. Those lame corner shots bother me.

It's harder to pull major league pitches down the line than it is to hit them to the gaps.

Carlos! I was fuully expecting Russell Martin to get plowed over by a raging Zambrano, which would have made the play even dumber.

I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure that is the main reason why fences push out towards the gaps and CF. It's just hard to pull a major league pitch down the line and get air under it without hooking it foul. Surely, still, the least amount of home runs go out in Center of course.
