I think you have to call river w/ tptk after all you put in. Aren't you getting like 3:1 on river?

You are aware that UTG folded as expected and SB is villain?

[/ QUOTE ]

My bad I missed that. I still don't like 3betting in this hand though unless UTG is like 60/40.

Not sure how to handle the flop now, I usually just bet, but I don't know if that's right.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think my 3 bet of UTG's minraise was correct. He had folded every time I had raised one of his minbets previously. He minbet a lot. The blinds respected my raises generally prior to this hand. I have A9s and I'm on the button.

I think this raise was fine and I want to talk about what to do on the flop given my reads now.

[/ QUOTE ]

Bet/fold the flop. Between $25-30. His stats may say he calls 60% of c-bets, but how often is that in a 3-bet pot?

Back to 3-betting A9s ip. You are going to fold a lot of the hands you want to be playing a suited A against. Ie, smaller hands of the same suit.

Maybe it's not as important at these stakes, but your flushes won't get paid off a tonne at higher stakes unless you are playing them aggro. So, although flush over flush isn't that common, it certainly adds a lot to the value of playing a suited A.

Flop: ($38) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB checks, Hero ?

It is worth noting that he went into his time bank before calling preflop and also used quite a bit of time before checking the flop.

Notice his stack size.

What's the plan if I check here?

if I c-bet?

[/ QUOTE ]

He has tight stats. I think you're wb with your hand. just fold flop.

As played c-bet flop.

If you check, just give up the hand.

If you c-bet fold raise, shut down if he calls

I think (hope) he's asking whether to just call or shove not call or fold!?

I would have shoved the turn, so I'd probably shove here as well.

fold your JJ, you have to be way behind QQ-AA, of flipping vs AK, AQ (unlikely, but still flipping)

Simple preflop decision?

Raiser is 20/17. BB is 26/20 and has one of those FT football uniform avatars, which I think means he won a FTOPS tourney or something, for whatever thats worth.

First, before you 3-bet JJ here, you should know what you are doing when faced with a 4-bet. Against this guy 3-bet folding JJ is just too nitty for my taste.

So, I call.
