[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] If they are wrong, are not the result of ignorance of facts, but rather the way [Dawkins] puts those facts together; his hermeneutics rather than his knowledge. [/ QUOTE ] C'mon - hermeneutics is knowledge. [/ QUOTE ]No. Hermeneutics is the analysis and explanation of accumulated knowledge. Check out the origin of the word. Mickey Brausch |

[ QUOTE ]
Both paths, the righteous and the evil, are open to us -- are in us, to be exact. [/ QUOTE ] It seems to me that if justice is what we make of it so is good and evil. |

[ QUOTE ]
Check out the origin of the word. [/ QUOTE ] I checked out the definition: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermeneutics [ QUOTE ] A hermeneutic is defined as a specific system or method for interpretation, or a specific theory of interpretation. [/ QUOTE ] What is knowledge but the interpretation of facts? |

This thread, like a lot of threads has got on long enough... Just look at the world , open minded, and see whether there is anything related to love into it, except what human being, but surely no creator, can do, or does!

[ QUOTE ] Um? Are you saying that the Bible DOESN'T say this? It says or implies it about 100 times [/ QUOTE ] That's because it is. It's also round. It's also a sphere. The Bible isn't a science textbook. [/ QUOTE ] In other words... the Bible is wrong. |

To be honest, I haven't studied the bible. To my knowledge there are no references about a flat earth. If this is incorrect (and there are), then it's telling. Still...
I still find it impressive that there aren't MORE glaring scientific errors! As I've said before, if I were writing such a book 2000 years ago, I'm sure I would have incrimminated myself to the point of making such a book downright laughable to anyone who read it 2000 years later. I might've said God personally puts the sun up every day. Or numbered the stars in the thousands, instead of sextillions. If you think about it, it's amazing there isn't more glaring falsehoods in the bible. That's all I'm saying. |

Arriving at THAT conclusion based on Not Ready's statement says a ton about your analytical skills, Kurto. How in the realms of this flat world did you come up with that? |

You guys are having a communication gap. NotReady could be right. Kurto could be right. As is all too common when it comes to the bible, this seems to be a matter of how one interprets what the bible states regarding this. Perhaps Chris could reference a part where the bible indicates a flat earth. It depends how it makes mention of "flat".

To be honest with you txag, I'm just funning with him. I kind of stopped taking you two seriously awhile ago when you constantly fail to back up statements of yours, post illogical threads, when you're backed into a corner you just ask questions... etc.
Notready is being so inconsistant here alone... he says if there were errors in the Bible he would question his beliefs. Then avoids discussing the many many errors. In terms of cosmology, the Bible tells us much. What it tells us is wrong. There's a nice section on that here that Lestat will probably enjoy- Bible Cosmology |
