Ah yes, the slogan of NoMaas. The truth is that diminishing returns catches up quite quickly and buying tons of free agents can be really detrimental with regard to draft picks.

i dont really complain/care, because the yankees really don't spend the money very wisely, but its a massive advantage. yes, the red sox spend a lot of money. yes, the yankees significantly outspend them. the red sox dont really complain anymore.

This is true, though I meant it with a focus on keeping our young guys. If we were spending even $100 million, we'd be able to keep CC, who might be the best pitcher in the game for the next few years. Instead, he'll probably end up in pinstripes.
