Guids, so you are saying implicitly that while an NFLer can split 2-3 unblocked tacklers on a kickoff, a dog cannot?

Are you going to address the need to tackle a fast-moving, very low animal and not a 6' tall human, or are you going to keep making add'tl assumptions that that is never a problem?

8 guys don't get 70 yards down the field in a perfect circle within 3' of the dog. Never happens. Try again.

trying to create retarded situations

or you are creating a situation in which it is impossible for the dog to score

[/ QUOTE ]

Wait, isn't that the point of football? To try to create situations to make it harder for the other team to score? Am I missing something? If it makes it impossible for them to score and it's within the rules, then all the better, no?

im seriously going insane at the ego and stupidity of sightless.

Scale it down to 1/4 (football field is ~1.3 acres), same shape. 3 guys kick off, line up, w/e. The dog's not getting by? C'mon!

Guids, all 11 guys on a kickoff coverage team can not get all downfield and surround him closely, and stay out of each other's way, on a normal kick.

And if they are running full-speed, the dog can juke 2-3 guys out no problem before hitting top speed, just like a human can.

After all, if you've watched an NFL game, you've seen PRs and KRs do this repeatedly. Even WRs take sideline passes and split the 2-3 unblocked CBs/S, and outrun the rest of the LB/secondary for TDs often.

[/ QUOTE ]

You keep saying that they cant get down field, when they can... C'mon, these guys are professional athletes, wtf, they have more than enough coordination to run at full speed w/ other guys a foot away. ... Yes, they can split 2 or 3 unblocked CBs, but there is a geometric difference between 2 and 11.

[/ QUOTE ]

Guids: States 11 tacklers covering 25-30' of space.

me: Dog runs backwards/sideways, hits 45mph in approx a second [look it up] runs with ridiculous ease past them down the sideline given the 50-60' gap btw the outside player and the sideline. End Zones are 30' long and 160' wide so Dog has more than enough room to work with.

Dog 1, NFL 0 in your example. You can probably do a lot better.

1. I never said that a dog cant split 2 or 3 guys, Im saying he CANT SPLIT 11.

2. It is probably somewhat harder to tackle a dog, but not much, the force to bump a dog and throw it off balance is way less than an nfl player, so while getting a hand on an nfl player to push him wont bring him down, pushing a dog will knock him off balance enough to stop/slow him down immensely. I think the trade off makes up for himself

no one said ANYTHING abotu 70 yards, I cant understand why you guys keep putting words into my mouth and inventing scenarios.

70 yards, leaves it at the goal line, not an optimal kick imo.

wtf? Guids said this: "Yes, they can split 2 or 3 unblocked CBs, but there is a geometric difference between 2 and 11." Implying that yes, 11 NFL players can get down the field by the time the kickoff gets there, and while the dog may be able to juke 2 or 3, 2 or 3 is not the same as 11.

[/ QUOTE ] The kickoff can be adjusted as well in order to shorten the kick (so it's not necessarily a 70 yard dash that they need to run), but to give it more hangtime so that in fact all 11 players will be there to meet the dog when it makes the catch. All Guids is saying is that given the OP's stipulations, the dog will lose.

THAT WASNT THE MOTHER [censored] SCENERIO AT ALL. YOU STATED THAT NO NFL TEAM CAN GET DOWN AND SURROUND TEH DOG BECAUSE TEHY WILL BUMBLING AND BUMPING INTO EACHOTHER. IM SAYING THAT THE NFL PLAYERS HAVE ENOUGH ATHLETIC ABLITY TO RUN AT FULL SPEED IN TIGHT FORMATION SO THEY CAN GET TO TEH DOG FAST ENOUGH TO SURROUND IT. THE DOG WILL NOT EVEN HAVE A CHANCE TO RUN BACKWARDS. holy [censored] Im going out for drinks. you guys are all wrong. and stupid.

1. We know you're saying this, doesn't make it true, and you haven't show it to be true even remotely, esp as you will need players on all 360 degrees for this to work.

Gimme the yardage, 70 was simply an example of a typical kick, I'm not putting words in your mouth by using an example at all.
Guids,If it's so easy, why not be clear about the distance??
