I think with the main red zone target gone in Henry, Housh is going to get those looks more often then CJ.

[/ QUOTE ]

So if CJ wasn't the main red zone target, his red zone looks won't increase at all? Assuming CJ wasn't targeted in the red zone because of Henry, he's going to be less productive with henry gone?

[/ QUOTE ]

That's pretty much what I'm feeling. With Henry gone I think Housh is going to get more looks in the red zone because he is more of the possession receiver. It's only my projections, take it for what you will.

Was bored this afternoon waiting for Phillies game to start so I joined a Yahoo public league with a live draft for practice. This is only my second year playing fantasy, and I botched my 2 drafts pretty badly in spots last year. I think this draft when really well, with alot of luck, but give me some feedback and I'll add some comments. I picked second in a 10 team draft. Start QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, TE, K, D

1. (2) RB - Stephen Jackson - StL
2. (19) RB - Travis Henry - Den
3. (22) WR - Chad Johnson - Cin
4. (39) WR - Lee Evans - Buf
5. (42) QB - Donovan McNabb - QB
6. (59) WR - Darrell Jackson - SFO
7. (62) WR - Laverneus Coles - NYJ
8. (79) RB - Brandon Jacobs - NYG
9. (82) RB - Marion Barber III - Dal
10. (99) TE - Kellen Winslow - Cle
11. (102) QB - Jay Cutler - Den
12. (119) RB - Brandon Jackson - GB
13. (122) D - Philadelphia
14. (139) RB - Lendale White - Ten
15. (142) K - Josh Scobee - Jac

First off, the first 4 rounds seem standard. Travis Henry and Chad dropping seem like gifts, even though Shanahan has a habit of [censored] me.

I'm not as high on McNabb as some. I think he could put up some sick, sick numbers, but I don't think his coming back healthy is as given as some here seem to assume. Either way, a fifth seemed like a good gamble on him.

DJax seems like a good 3rd WR. The 7th round is my first question comes in. I was considering picking Kitna up here in case McNabb falls through. Even with McNabb healthy, a combo would Kitna would be very solid. Two of my WRs share a bye in week 6 though, and Laverneus Coles was still available which seemed like great value, so I picked him up. Kitna was taken very next pick, did I make a solid choice here?

Rounds 8 and 9 I pick up Jacobs and Barber. I probably already have the best RB duo, but the value seemed too great. It ended up not mattering, but I have a question about the order. In the 8th, Lynch, Jacobs, and Barber were available. Both Lynch and Jacobs shared a bye with one of my starting RBs, so I considered taking Barber since his bye was round 8, even though I had him ranked lower. I ended up going best player available (IMO), but should I have taken Barber to make sure I had a solid RB for a bye week?

Winslow in 10th seemed ok, quality TEs were running out. Witten, Heath Miller, Desmond Clark, and Greg Olsen were the only TEs taken after Winslow. This seemed like a steal since Winslow was one of the top 5 TEs last year.

11, picked up Cutler. I felt really solid on RBs and WRs, and I needed someone in case McNabb bombs. It was down to Favre, Cutler, and Losman. It was a tough decision for me, but I went with Cutler

12 and 14, I added to my already solid stable of RBs. There didn't seem to be much value elsewhere, and if nothing else I was hoping these guys could give me some trading power down the road. I wouldn't mind a 5th WR, but only players like Furrey, Matt Jones, Jerry Porter, etc were left. Actually, Joe Horn was left as well, and I probably should have taken him instead of Philly in the 12th.

Overall, I've never really carried backups for TE and D, which seems to be the consensus here. I try to pick up more quality backups for RB, WR, and QB instead since they tend to be easier to predict

A+++

I know it's a yahoo league and all, but some of these values are just retarded.

Henry at 19?
Chad at 22 is good, but not totally out of the ordinary. People have their top 7 WRs all over the place, so seeing one that you rank as your #1/#2 dropping to the 6th or 7th WR taken won't be uncommon.
Love Lee Evans in the 4th and Donovan in the 5th.
Jacobs in the 8th is stupid. I'm not even high on him, but I wouldn't pass on him in the 6th...he will probably be going in the late 4th, early 5th most of the time.
MBIII in the 9th? WTF?
I think even after all these, the steal of your draft is Cutler 100 picks in. I have him very high on my board this year. I have a feeling that he will be similar to Carson in his breakout year.
Brandon Jackson in the 12th is awesome, too.

If I had this team in any of my leagues, I would be extatic.

I'm gonna post another draft before my official ones start if no one minds. I also may put together my rankings with some comments, and I'd like to see others as well.

Hey guys...was hoping you would rate my draft for me. We had to do it early this year because people couldnt make it to the live draft later. Standard Yahoo scoring but the starting positions are different. Its QB, RB, WR, WR/RB, WR/RB, TE, K, DEF. I had the second pick in a 10 man league.

1. Steven Jackson
2. Willis McGahee
3. Ronnie Brown
4. T.O.
5. Donald Driver
6. Vernon Davis
7. Tony Romo
8. Brandon Jackson
9. Deoin Branch
10. Joey Harrington
11. Marion Barber
12. Adrian Perterson (Chi)
13. Wes Welker
14. Ronald Curry
15. Greg Olsen
16. Jason Hanson
17. Vikings D

Thanks in advace

3. Ronnie Brown cool
4. T.O. wtf? He should be a second round pick in even 10 teamers. Robbery.
5. Donald Driver wow again.
6. Vernon Davis woah. Way too early.
7. Tony Romo great pick
8. Brandon Jackson why would you take him over MBIII? You got real lucky to get MBIII later.
9. Deoin Branch good pick
10. Joey Harrington wtf. worst QB in nfl.
11. Marion Barber wow, just wow.
12. Adrian Perterson (Chi)
13. Wes Welker
14. Ronald Curry
15. Greg Olsen
16. Jason Hanson
17. Vikings D

rest is fine.

I see your lineup being

QB - Romo
RB - SJax
RB - Brown
RB/WR - McGahee/Driver
WR - T.O.

Looks pretty solid even though I hate McGahee. Now I see why WR's lasted so long, but still T.O. is the 4th is insane. I am not really familar with 10 team leagues especially ones that start as few positions as yours, but it seems like a very solid draft.

Please post all the teams if you get a chance.

Just to point out some positives for McGahee. The Ravens have the easiest run defense schedule this year. He will be on a much better team and will have opportunities late in the game to run out the clock and pick up some garbage time yards. With a superior defense and special teams the Ravens will be in the red zone more as well. More redzone carries means more chances to score.

It looks like he is going to be a top 10 running back.

Isn't Donnie Driver on the physically unable to perform list?

the PUP in the pre season is a joke. Teams put legit guys on there so they can bring in an extra rookie FA to try out for the team

Don't think (and hopefully won't) affect any rankings, but Frank Gore apparently broke his hand in first padded practice
