Re: Official Barry Bonds Countdown Thread
Wow pretty surprised there are other Bonds fans out there. Been a huge fan since I was a little kid, my favorite stat of his is the 500/500 mark. No other player in history even has 400 HR's and 400 SB's and he has 500/500. I love that.
Regardless of steroids I think he's one of the best hitters ever. Plus his swing is so much fun to watch. If he doesn't break the record at home I'd love to see him do it on the road against the Dodgers. |

[/ QUOTE ] Tons of Bonds fans out there, the haters are just more vocal. See this ESPN poll article: Only 52% don't want him to break the record, based on a large poll. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/column...amp;id=2861938 Here's an excerpt: But would you have known, from the way this issue has been portrayed by all of us in the media biz, that the percentage of fans who wish this moment wasn't happening would be only 52 percent? Would you have guessed that three fans out of every eight actually want Barry Bonds to break this record? |

I hope Bonds plays like 3 more years and puts the record out of reach, just to piss of all the haters forever.

[/ QUOTE ] That would definitely be possible, but he would have to move to the AL to achieve it. I don't see him being able to play in the NL. He already gets tons of days off and is a liability on the defensive side of the game. |
