i dont think the reds (admins) want people doing name changes and if they do they need to be similar to what they were before to avoid confusion etc. Also a good reason is usually needed for a change and not just because we can

unrelatedly, this probably was said by someone before.

but it occurred to me this morning that given all this hubbubb in the US about gambling and gambling debt, why tf isn't anyone making a big deal about credit card debt?!

if the hand-holding gov't needs to protect us from ourselves when it comes to gambling, then why is it entirely unconcerned if we rack up 10k+ in (plus interest!) credit card debt?

hypocrites.

because our economy's continued growth is predicated on the public's ever-increasing purchases of consumer goods. since we don't actually have the cash on hand to buy those goods, we can use credit cards--hooray.

also what hubbub about gambling or gambling debt? some guys in one party rammed this thing through and there's always been somewhat of a puritanical streak in our culture. i don't think it's safe to assume at all that this is a hand-holding-government-nationwide type of groundswell.
