Re: what does your dad do for work?
My dad was one of the founding fathers of drag racing on the west coast. He eventually won a few NHRA top fuel championships and was the third drag racer to break the 300 mph mark. He also was the oldest driver ever to win a top fuel event. Although he made more money in business than in racing this was always his stated profession.
A sad side note: After retiring form NHRA top fuel he began racing nostalgia dragsters on the Good Guys cicuit. In August of 2002 he rolled his car at 220 mph and sustained severe brain damage. He has since partially recoverd but will never race or work again. he is retired and living with his fourth trophy wife in Baja Mexico.
