This should be around 225 digits. I memorized them in highschool. I intended to memorize at least 1000 digits but I lost interest.

I also memorized the opening of the canterbury (sp?) tales to "and specially, from every shire's ende, of engelond to canterbury they wende
the holy blissful martyr for to seke
that hem hath holpen wan that they were seke"

spelling surely butchered.

Also:

The Second Coming

Turning and turning in the widening gyre

The falcon cannot hear the falconer;

Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;

Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,

The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere

The ceremony of innocence is drowned;

The best lack all convictions, while the worst

Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;

Surely the Second Coming is at hand.

The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out

When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi

Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert

A shape with lion body and the head of a man,

A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,

Is moving its slow thighs, while all around it

Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.

The darkness drops again; but now I know

That twenty centuries of stony sleep

Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,

And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,

Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

And some good anti religious stuff from Lucretius' On the Nature of Things which I'm not going to type out. (It's the passage concerning the sacrifice of Iphigenia)

[ QUOTE ]
McClellan, Pope, McDowell, McClellan (again), Burnside, Hooker, Grant
(Commanders of the Army of the Potomac 1860-1864)

[/ QUOTE ]

OOHHHHHH BOY I gotta pick me some nits!

1) The Army of the Potomac was first constituted under Irvin McDowell. George McClellan had an independent command in western Virginia (what would become West Virginia) at the time.

2) Pope's an okay addition, but he technically never commanded the "Army of the Potomac"; he had his own command, styled the Army of Virginia, that merely had nearly every unit in the Army of the Potomac transferred to it.

3) After Hooker comes Meade! He took command after Chancellorsville and technically led the Army of the Potomac for the rest of the war.

4) Grant also never actually commanded the Army of the Potomac, per se. He was promoted to the revived rank of lieutenant general, made General-In-Chief, and had control over all Union armies. He simply chose to direct his affairs from the front in Virginia. Meade still nominally commanded the army.

So your list should look like: McDowell, McClellan, *Pope, McClellan, Burnside, Hooker, Meade, *Grant.

GOD I'M SUCH A [censored] NERD AND A SHOWOFF, UGH.

Okay, done.
