I think the 2 was fine because Iowa's FG kicker is so bad that two FGs by the Hawkeyes are not a likely outcome. The gain from 5 to 7 is huge compared to the loss from 6 to 5 there.

Plus they had just moved the ball seemingly at will against the Iowa D. I think it was the right play.

man, Texas loves those 15 yd penalties to get Iowa going in this half.
